Our Pastor

      Pastor David Warskow was born on January 28, 1971, to William and Helen Warskow. He is number 5 of 6 children (3 boys, 3 girls). He attended Emmanuel Lutheran Church and School in Tempe, AZ for grades 1-8. From there he attended high school at Arizona Lutheran Academy, Phoenix, AZ, and graduated in May, 1989. Following high school, Pastor Warskow attended Northwestern College, Watertown, WI. He graduated from Northwestern in May, 1993. In the fall of 1993, Pastor Warskow attended Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary. In 1995-1996, he was a vicar at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Frankenmuth MI. Pastor then returned for his final year at the Seminary and graduated May, 1997.

       He served the following congregations: Our Shepherd Lutheran Church, Lancaster, CA (1997-2010), Trinity Lutheran Church, Ridgecrest, CA (2011-2018).

       In his spare time, Pastor likes woodworking, outdoor activities (hiking, fishing, hunting), ham radio operation, and gardening. He is an avid sports fan liking football (AZ Cardinals), baseball (AZ Diamondbacks), basketball (Phoenix Suns), and ice hockey (AZ Coyotes). His favorite college team is the Arizona State Sun Devils.

       Dea is a native of Illinois. She was born to Larry and Martha Biasi on March 2, 1972.  Dea was raised in Savanna, Illinois where she attended grade school, Jr. High, and High School. She graduated from Savanna High School in June of 1990. From there, she enrolled in Wisconsin Lutheran College where she majored in Education and Music (Vocal Emphasis). Dea graduated with a B.A. in May 1995.

        On June 10, 1995, David and Dea were married at Trinity Lutheran Church, Mt. Carroll, IL. She then accompanied David during his vicar year to Frankenmuth, MI. In the summer of 1997, they traveled to Pastor’s first call in Lancaster, CA. In the summer of 1999, Dea began her teaching career at Manzanita Elementary School in the Palmdale School District. There she taught grades 3 and 4. She taught until 2011. During the fall of 2009, Dea went back to school, this time it was Culinary School. She enrolled in The College of Le Cordon Bleu and studied Baking and Pastry. Dea completed her training in the Spring 2010. In the summer of 2011, she changed her career. She started baking at a cupcake bakery in Pacific Palisades, CA, near Malibu. Dea also began her own catering company, Just the Rite Bite Catering.

       In 2014, Dea began working for California Lutheran High School in the school’s kitchen and continued until the spring of 2018. In her spare time she enjoys crochet, scrapbooking, baking, gardening, and hiking. She too enjoys sporting activities like football (DA BEARS!), baseball (GO CUBS GO!), basketball (DA BULLS!), and hockey (Blackhawks).

       The Lord blessed the Warskows with 4 children: Samuel, Marcus, Elijah and Abigail. Currently Samuel, Marcus and Elijah are serving in the U.S. Air Force. Abigail is a sophomore in highschool.
